Spuds! Make your travel plans now! August 30, 2008 at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH.
Updates will be posted as they come in, so, as always, stay tuned to this space for all the latest news.
| Performances Another musical incarnation of Poopy Necroponde, CLEVO, will be appearing. With a track record like Tater Blaster and Natural Lizzy, who knows what we'll get this time? The crowd-favorite Mutant Mountain Boys will be back again to fill out lives with some old-time bluegrass style DEVO tunes. DEVOtional mainstay dealer Malcolm Tent will be playing for us a set of acoustic DEVO tunes. And, as always, the Spudboys will be in the house with yet another unforgettable performance, and this is definitely one that you will not want to miss. Audiences have not seen the likes of a show like this for more than 20 years! |
Attractions The ever-excellent KRK Ryden will again be gracing us with his presence, artwork, stories and music. If you haven't made a friend out of this man yet, you are sorely missing out. But of coruse, that isn't all. We'll be screening, for the first time ever, film footage of DEVO performing live, 11/14/1977. Having seen a preview, I can assure you that this is the highest-quality archival DEVO footage I've ever seen. Due to a scheduling conflict, the none of the band will be in attendance. However, we will be hosting a live video chat with DEVO, for the very first time! So prep your questions for the band, this will be our first opportunity to ask many of them questions in this capacity! |
| Artwork In the last few years, it's become a tradition to gear-up for the next day's festivities by viewing some devolved artwork in the surrounding area. This year, the Asterisk Gallery will play host to an exhibit of incredibly devolved artwork by KRK Ryden, so be sure to get in early to check it out. Not only will there be that, but Bruce Perry has also organized the benefit show Jocko Dome-O, which will showcase mutations of Energy Domes by artists of all sorts, including KRK Ryden, Jeff Warmouth, Rev. Ivan Stang and Winston Smith (Dead Kennedys album artist)! |
Lodging Once again, Scott Orsi has been excellent enough to make some group rate arrangements for DEVOtional guests. This year, we'll be staying at a Motel 6 in the nearby land of Willoughby, OH (10 minutes away from the Beachland). Weary of staying at a Motel 6? Well, don't be. It was recently acquired from Marriott and used to be a Fairfield Inn, which are pretty nice hotels. And the price? $59.99 + tax, or about $67 per night! That's a 2.5-star hotel at a 1-star price. Full info is below. There are 25 rooms reserved at the group rate, so snatch them up while they're still there! |
| Tickets Tickets for this year's event are $20, and will be readily available at the door! |
Promotion KRK Ryden has been excellent enough to design us an absolutely amazing flyer. Download it below, get it printed off at Kinko's and hang it up everywhere you can! |
